Inspection Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Lexus IS F. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
  • When replacing the tire pressure warning ECU and receive, read the IDs stored in the ECU using the Techstream and note them down before removal.
  • It is necessary to perform initialization (See INITIALIZATION  ) after registration (See REGISTRATION  ) of the transmitter IDs into the tire pressure warning ECU and receiver if the ECU and/or one of the valve and transmitters have been replaced.
  1. CHECK SATELLITE SWITCH
    1. Using the satellite switch, check that the switch operates normally in the other modes. (For example. TACH INDICATOR mode)

OK: The satellite switch operates normally.

    NG: Go to step  3

    OK: Go to next step

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER - TIRE PRESSURE WARNING ECU AND RECEIVER)
    1. Disconnect the tire pressure warning ECU and receiver J49 connector and combination meter J34 connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J49-5 (IDSW) - J34-4 (INT) Always Below 1 Ω
J49-5 (IDSW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  3. INSPECT TIRE PRESSURE WARNING SELECT SWITCH
    1. Disconnect the satellite switch J16 connector
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below

      Standard Resistance

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

Switch Position Tester Connection Specified Condition
      Left switch on J16-2 (LSFT) - J16-5 (E) Below 1 Ω
      Set switch on J16-3 (SET) - J16-5 (E) Below 1 Ω
      Right switch on J16-4 (RSEL) - J16-5 (E) Below 1 Ω
      Left switch off J16-2 (LSFT) - J16-5 (E) 10 kΩ or higher
      Set switch off J16-3 (SET) - J16-5 (E) 10 kΩ or higher
      Right switch off J16-4 (RSEL) - J16-5 (E) 10 kΩ or higher

      HINT.

The satellite switch is used as the tire pressure warning select switch As a result, the inspection above describes inspection of the satellite switch If a fault is confirmed in the above inspection, replace the satellite switch
