Inspection Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Lexus IS F. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
- When replacing the tire pressure warning ECU and receive, read the IDs stored in the ECU using the Techstream and note them down before removal.
- It is necessary to perform initialization (See INITIALIZATION ) after registration (See REGISTRATION ) of the transmitter IDs into the tire pressure warning ECU and receiver if the ECU and/or one of the valve and transmitters have been replaced.
- CHECK SATELLITE SWITCH
- Using the satellite switch, check that the switch operates normally in the other modes. (For example. TACH INDICATOR mode)
OK: The satellite switch operates normally.
NG: Go to step 3
OK: Go to next step
- Using the satellite switch, check that the switch operates normally in the other modes. (For example. TACH INDICATOR mode)
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER - TIRE PRESSURE WARNING ECU AND RECEIVER)
- Disconnect the tire pressure warning ECU and receiver J49 connector and combination meter J34 connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHARTTester Connection Condition Specified Condition J49-5 (IDSW) - J34-4 (INT) Always Below 1 Ω J49-5 (IDSW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: REPLACE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING ECU AND RECEIVER (See REMOVAL )
- INSPECT TIRE PRESSURE WARNING SELECT SWITCH
- Disconnect the satellite switch J16 connector
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below
Standard Resistance
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHARTSwitch Position Tester Connection Specified Condition Left switch on J16-2 (LSFT) - J16-5 (E) Below 1 Ω Set switch on J16-3 (SET) - J16-5 (E) Below 1 Ω Right switch on J16-4 (RSEL) - J16-5 (E) Below 1 Ω Left switch off J16-2 (LSFT) - J16-5 (E) 10 kΩ or higher Set switch off J16-3 (SET) - J16-5 (E) 10 kΩ or higher Right switch off J16-4 (RSEL) - J16-5 (E) 10 kΩ or higher HINT.
The satellite switch is used as the tire pressure warning select switch As a result, the inspection above describes inspection of the satellite switch If a fault is confirmed in the above inspection, replace the satellite switch
NG: REPLACE SATELLITE SWITCH (See TIRE PRESSURE WARNING RESET SWITCH )
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER - SATELLITE SWITCH)
