July 1: So it begins. Don't worry, this is not in the correct legal jurisdiction!

Drop Arm Ball Joint: Reassembly

  1. Press in lower socket up to shoulder. See Fig 1 .
  2. Dip ball pin in grease, install to housing and pack with grease. See Fig 1 .
  3. Install top socket. See Fig 1 .
  4. Install spring, small diameter towards ball. See Fig 1 .
  5. Install "O" ring. Compress cover plate and install circlip, ensure circlip is seated. See Fig 1 .
  6. Press retainer onto ball pin until top edge is level with edge of taper. See Fig 1 .
  7. Install dust cover and retain with 2 spring rings. See Fig 1 .
  8. Install drop arm. See DROP ARM  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Use new lock washer. Tighten nut to 130 ft. lbs. (176 N.m). Bend over lock washer.
  9. Install ball pin to drag link. See DRAG LINK & DRAG LINK ENDS  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
