Signal Circuit Inspection

  1. Ignition "OFF".
  2. Refer to INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR (IATS) and disconnect IAT Sensor connector.
  3. Ignition "ON".
  4. Measure voltage between Pin No. 3 (Signal) terminal of IAT Sensor harness connector and chassis ground.

    Specification:  Approx. 5V

  5. Ignition "OFF"
  1. Disconnect Battery (-) terminal.
  2. Refer to INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR (IATS) and disconnect IAT Sensor connector.
  3. Measure resistance between Pin No. 3 (Signal) terminal of IAT Sensor harness connector and chassis ground.

    Specification:  ∞ (infinity)Ω

  4. Is the measured value within specification?

    YES 

    NO 

    • Repair open or short in signal circuit between IAT Sensor and PCM and then go to "VERIFICATION OF REPAIR " procedure.
