Signal Circuit Inspection

  1. Ignition "OFF" & Disconnect Alternator connector.
  2. Ignition "ON".
  3. Measure voltage between Pin No. 1 (COM) terminal of Alternator harness connector and chassis ground. Measure voltage between Pin No. 3 (FR) terminal of Alternator harness connector and chassis ground.

    Specification: 

    FR - Approx 12V

    COM - Approx 2.65V (PWM Signal)

  4. Ignition "OFF" & Disconnect PCM connector.
  5. Measure resistance between Pin No. 3 (FR) terminal of Alternator harness connector and B+.

    Specification:  ∞

  6. Is the measured Value within specification?

    YES 

    NO
