DTC Information: DTC Detecting Condition

Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
DTC Strategy
  • Signal monitoring
  1. Poor connector connection
  2. Open or short in circuit of motor
  3. Motor lock error
  4. Abnormal motor operation
  5. Faulty HECU
Enable Condition Case 1
  • Ignition "ON"
  • No related DTC is stored
Case 2
  • Ignition "ON" and vehicle speed over 30km/h (19mph)
Case 3
  • Motor relay "ON"
Case 4
  • Motor relay "OFF"
Case 5
  • Motor relay "ON" and then "OFF"
Threshold Value Case 1
  • Supply voltage of pump motor is less than 7V for more than 500ms.
Case 2
  • Valve, pump motor relay and pump motor monitoring
    • Monitors short in solenoid valve circuit by activating valve and pump motor in sequence. The valve fault is detected by monitoring valve feedback signal. At the same time pump motor is activated.
Case 3
  • Operating voltage of pump motor does not reach 3.0 (±0.5) V within 160ms after motor relay "ON"
  • Operating voltage of pump motor is less than supply voltage of HECU - 4.0V for more than 500ms.
Case 4
  • Operating voltage of pump motor is over 3.0 (±0.5) V for more than 2.5s.
Case 5
  • Monitoring operating voltage of pump motor for certain time (TSL)
    • The TSL is calculated by HECU voltage and duty ratio upon motor operation.
    • Motor is normal if low level of motor voltage is continued for less than 40ms during the TSL. If low level of motor voltage is continued for more than 40ms, HECU activates motor for 3 times. The fault is set if same condition is detected after 3 operation.
Disable Condition
  • Ignition "OFF" and then "ON" and minimum vehicle speed over 30km/h (19mph)
Warning Lamp
  • EBD/ABS/ESC (ESP) Warning Indicator Lamp "ON"
Failsafe
  • ABS/ESC (ESP) function prohibited, partial EBD control is allowed
