Electronic Shift Module

REMOVAL 

1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable(s). Refer to BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT - STANDARD SINGLE BATTERY SYSTEM or BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT - ETORQUE SYSTEM .
2. Remove the floor console cup holder. Refer to CUPHOLDER, FLOOR CONSOLE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

3. Remove the fasteners that secure the Electronic Shift Module (ESM) to the cup holder.
4. If replacing the ESM remove the transfer case switch. Refer to BW48-30, SWITCH, TRANSFER CASE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATIONBW48-12, SWITCH, TRANSFER CASE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
5. If equipped remove the air suspension ride height switch. Refer to MODULE, RIDE HEIGHT SWITCH, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

INSTALLATION 

Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle.
