Solenoid, Variable Valve Timing: Installation

  1. Install a NEW  gasket (1).

  2. Install the Variable Valve Timing (VVT) solenoid (1) and tighten the bolts (2) to the proper specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .

  3. If removed, install the right isolator to engine mount bracket bolt (2) and tighten to the proper specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

  4. Connect the VVT solenoid wire harness connector (1).
  5. Install the clean air hose and air cleaner body cover. Refer to HOSE, CLEAN AIR .
  6. Install the top engine cover. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, INSTALLATION .
  7. Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector to the negative battery cable.
