Hinge, Liftgate: Installation

With assistance, support the liftgate while the hinges are being installed.
NOTE:
Use a suitable body sealer on the hinge to body mating surfaces prior to installation.
Place the liftgate hinge to the vehicle and loosely install the fasteners (1) from under the headliner.
Align the liftgate hinge with the reference mark made previously and tighten the liftgate hinge to body fasteners (1) to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

Place the liftgate to the hinge (2) and loosely install the fasteners (1).
Align the liftgate with the reference mark made previously and tighten the liftgate hinge (2) to liftgate fasteners (1) to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
Check the liftgate for proper alignment and operation. Refer to GAP AND FLUSH, SPECIFICATIONS .
Install the headliner. Refer to HEADLINER, INSTALLATION .
