Removal And Installation: Installation

  1. Install the connecting rod and piston complete with upper bearing shell, using a suitable piston ring compression tool and driver (1).

  2. Make sure the arrow (a) on the crown of the piston is facing to the front of the engine.

  3. Install the connecting rod cap (1a) complete with bearing shell and tighten the bolts (1b) to the proper specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

    NOTE:

    The rod caps must be installed such to the number stamped on them (a) is facing the same side of that stamped on the rod (b).

    NOTE:

    Each connecting rod must be coupled with the respective cap respecting the numerical references stamped on them; connecting rods and rod caps are not interchangeable.

  4. Install engine oil pick-up tube complete with new gasket and tighten the bolts to the proper specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  5. Install the cylinder head. Refer to CYLINDER HEAD, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  6. Remove the motor support frame.
