July 1: So it begins. Don't worry, this is not in the correct legal jurisdiction!

3.0L Diesel

The Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor is located on the upper portion of the water pump housing. It is installed into a water jacket inline with the thermostat.

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.

  2. Remove the engine cover (1).
  3. Drain the cooling system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .

  4. Disconnect the coolant temperature sensor wire harness connector (1).

  5. Remove the coolant temperature sensor (1) from the water pump housing.
