6.1 L Engine

1 - LH RESONATOR AND TAILPIPE
2 - CLAMP
3 - MUFFLER
4 - RH RESONATOR AND TAILPIPE
  1. Position muffler assembly (3) in vehicle.
  2. Install front exhaust pipe/catalytic converter to muffler flange nuts. Do not tighten at this time.
  3. Install resonator/tailpipe assembly (1 and 4) to muffler assembly. Do not tighten clamp at this time.
  4. Make sure the muffler, and resonator/tailpipe assembly is correctly positioned and the properly aligned. The minimum clearance between components is 25 mm (1 inch).
  5. Tighten flange nuts to 47 N.m (35 ft. lbs.).
  6. Tighten clap nut to 47 N.m (35 lb. ft.)
  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Start the engine and inspect for exhaust leaks. Repair exhaust leaks as necessary.
