July 1: So it begins. Don't worry, this is not in the correct legal jurisdiction!

Removal & Installation

  1. Locate PCM on cowl panel in right rear corner of engine compartment. See Fig 1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove Transmission Control Module (TCM), if equipped. Remove coolant reserve/overflow tank.
  2. Remove cover for access to PCM connectors. Cover snaps to connectors. Carefully disconnect three 32-way PCM connectors. Remove 3 PCM bracket-to-body mounting nuts. See Fig 2. Remove PCM and PCM bracket assembly from vehicle. Remove 3 PCM-to-PCM bracket bolts (screws). See Fig 3.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten PCM retaining bolts/nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
