BCM Messages Not Received By MIC

  1. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, select BCM. If BCM responds, go to next step. If BCM does not respond, go to BUS +/- SIGNAL OPEN FROM BODY CONTROL MODULE  under COMMUNICATION. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  2. Erase DTC from instrument cluster. Ensure there is still communications with BCM module. Using scan tool, check for same DTC to reappear. If same DTC appears, check connectors, terminals and wiring for obvious damage and repair as necessary. If no obvious damage was found, replace instrument cluster. See appropriate INSTRUMENT PANELS article. If same DTC does not appear, test is complete. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
