WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1995 Jeep Wrangler, 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and 1995 Jeep Cherokee. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
Before proceeding with diagnosis, certain precautions must be followed. See PRETEST INSPECTION under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
Diagnostic test procedures are designed to detect system faults as quickly as possible. Body Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) are accessed through CCD BUS Data Link Connector (DLC). See Figure. Scan tool is used to access information from CCD BUS DLC. See ENTERING ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTICS under DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE.
Scan tool, jumper wires and volt-ohmmeter will be needed for testing. Proceed to TEST 1A - IDENTIFYING VEHICLE EQUIPMENT & SYSTEM PROBLEMS under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC TESTS. Ensure self-diagnostic tests apply to vehicle being tested. When system problem is identified according to customer's complaint, perform indicated diagnostic test(s).
