July 1: So it begins. Don't worry, this is not in the correct legal jurisdiction!

Power Recliner Adjuster/Motor Test

  1. Operate power recliner switch in both directions. If power recliner fails to operate in only one direction, see POWER SEAT SWITCH TEST. If power recliner fails to operate in either direction, see CIRCUIT BREAKER TEST  . If circuit breaker fails, replace faulty circuit breaker. If circuit breaker passes test, go to next step.
  2. Remove power seat switch. See POWER SEAT SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Using a voltmeter, check for battery voltage at connector terminal No. 5 (Red wire). If battery voltage does not exist, repair open Red wire to circuit breaker. If battery voltage exists, go to next step.
  3. Using an ohmmeter, check for continuity between ground and connector terminal No. 1 (Black wire). If no continuity exists, repair open Black wire to ground. If continuity exists, go to next step.
  4. Test power seat switch. See POWER SEAT SWITCH TEST  . If switch tests okay, replace faulty power recliner adjuster/motor assembly.
