Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Testing and Inspection


1. Disconnect sensor electrical connector.
2. Using a suitable digital volt-ohmmeter, measure sensor resistance.
3. Resistance should be less than 1000 ohms with engine at normal operating temperature, or approximately 3400 ohms if tested at room temperature.
4. If resistance is not as specified, replace sensor.
5. Check resistance between ECU connector terminal 32 and sensor connector, then between ECU connector terminal 15 and sensor connector. If a open circuit is indicated, repair wire harness as necessary.
