Leak Detection

Leak Test

Faults associated with low refrigerant charge weight and low pressure may be caused by leakage. Leaks traced to mechanical connections, may be caused by torque relaxation or joint face contamination. Evidence of oil around these areas is an indication of leaks. When checking for non-visible leaks, only use a dedicated R134a type electronic analyzer and apply the probe all around the joint or connection.

If a leak is traced to a joint, ensure the fixing is tightened correctly before any other action is taken. NEVER use an R12 or flame type analyzer.
