Timing Cover: Service and Repair

- Remove engine and transmission assembly from vehicle.
- Remove cylinder head and oil pan assembly.
- Remove water pump and crankcase breather.
- Remove crankshaft vibration damper, cone and Woodruff key.

Figure 60:





- Remove bolts, timing chain cover, O-ring and gasket.
- Reverse procedure to install. Clean mating surfaces, then install a new O-ring and gasket.
