AFFECTED VEHICLES

1990-91 Trooper (KT), 1992-on Trooper (UX) and 1991-on Rodeo (UC) models equipped with 4L30-E automatic transmission.

SERVICE INFORMATION

Beginning July 1, 1993, a questionnaire will be supplied with each new 4L30-E automatic transmission assembly and Transmission Control Module(TCM). (See Fig 1 & 2).

The technician should fill out and mail the questionnaire as soon as possible after replacing a 4L30-E assembly or TCM. Responses to these questions will reveal the specific nature of the problem which led to replacement.

The questionnaires are pre-addressed to AIMI Service Engineering who will forward them to GM Powertrain to assist in failure analysis. A postage stamp is already affixed to each questionnaire.
