Engine Speed Signal Inspection

  1. CHECK VISUAL 

    At the engine start, the pointer on the tachometer fluctuates.

    Is the fluctuation acceptable? 

    1. YES: GO TO 2.
    2. NO: GO TO  3.
  2. CHECK ENGINE SPEED 

    Compare the engine speed and the values indicated in tachometer.

    Does the engine speed correspond to the speed indicated? 

    1. YES: Tachometer is OK.
    2. NO: Replace combination meter.
  3. CHECK ECM SYSTEM 

    Perform ECM self-diagnosis. Refer to "CONSULT-II FUNCTION (ENGINE) ".

    OK or NG 

    1. OK: Replace combination meter.
    2. NG: Perform "Diagnostic Procedure" for displayed DTC.
