Possible Causes

Malfunction "A" will cause ECM to illuminate MIL and set DTC P0101 when high voltage from MAF sensor is sent to ECM under light load driving condition is detected.

Malfunction "B" will cause ECM to illuminate MIL and set DTC P0101 when low voltage from MAF sensor is sent to ECM under heavy load driving condition is detected.

Possible causes of malfunctions are:

• MAF sensor circuit open or shorted.
• Poor, loose, corroded or damaged terminal connections.
• Defective MAF sensor.
• Intake air leaks (malfunction "B" only).
