DTC Confirmation Test (Using CONSULT-II)

NOTE: Use the following test to check overall function of cooling fan. During this test, 1st trip DTC may not be confirmed.
  1. Check the coolant level in the reservoir tank and radiator. If coolant level is okay, go to next step. If the coolant level in the reservoir tank and/or radiator is below the proper range, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  .
  2. If customer added coolant, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  . If customer did not add coolant, go to next step.
  3. Start engine. If cooling fan operates, go to next step. If cooling fan does not operate, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  .
  4. Select TARGET FAN RPM in ACTIVE TEST mode with CONSULT-II. Change TRGT FAN RPM indication by touching UP and DOWN.
  5. Cooling fan operating speed should change according to TRGT FAN RPM indication. If operation is as specified, system is okay at this time. If operation is not as specified, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  .
