July 1: So it begins. Don't worry, this is not in the correct legal jurisdiction!

Test J: TCS Off Switch Inoperative

  1. Remove TCS OFF switch from dash and disconnect switch harness connector. On 1999 models, check continuity between TCS OFF switch terminals No. 4 (Black wire) and No. 5 (Light Blue wire). On 2000 models, check continuity between TCS OFF switch terminals No. 2 (Light Blue wire) and No. 3 (Black wire). On all models, depress switch. Continuity should exist. Release switch. Continuity should not exist. If continuity is as specified, go to next step. If continuity is not as specified, replace TCS OFF switch.
  2. Disconnect ABS/TCS control unit harness connector. Check continuity of Light Blue wire between TCS OFF switch harness connector terminal No. 5 (1999 models) or No. 2 (2000 models) and ABS/TCS control unit harness connector terminal No. 44. See Figure or Figure . Also check circuit for short to ground and short to voltage. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair as necessary and retest system. If circuit is okay, go to next step.
  3. On 1999 models, check continuity between ground and TCS OFF switch harness connector terminal No. 4 (Black wire). On 2000 models, check continuity between ground and TCS OFF switch harness connector terminal No. 3 (Black wire). On all models, if continuity exists, system is okay. If continuity does not exist, repair open ground circuit.
