Repair Procedures: Removal

Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the battery negative (-) terminal.
Remove the battery. (Refer to Engine Electrical System - "BATTERY ")
Remove the air cleaner. (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "AIR CLEANER ")
Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector (A).
Remove the spring clip, and then pull the sensor (B) from the water temperature control assembly.

CAUTION:
- Note that engine coolant may flow out from the water temperature control assembly when removing the sensor.
Supplement the engine coolant. (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "COOLANT ")
