Repair Procedures: Removal

  1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
  2. Remove the tailgate trim.

    (Refer to  LIFTGATE TRIM REPAIR PROCEDURES  Body - "Tail Gate Trim") 

  3. Disconnect the PTG spindle connector (A).

  4. Using a flat-tip screwdriver, remove the mounting clip (A).

  5. Remove the spindle assembly after loosening mounting bolts.

CAUTION:
  • Take care not to close the tailgate when removing the lift.
