CAN Comm. Line Inspection (Open/Short)

Ignition OFF.
4WD ECM: Disconnect.
Measure resistance between CAN (HIGH) terminal of 4WD ECM harness connector and CAN (LOW) terminal of 4WD ECM harness connector.
1. Specification: Approx. 60 Ω

  CAUTION: The above value is only for reference. The actual value may differ from it according to various engine condition.
Is "resistance" display near the specified value?
YES
1. Fault is intermittent caused by open or short in CAN signal harness or was repaired and "4WD-ECM" memory was not cleared. Go to the applicable troubleshooting procedure.
NO
1. Check for open or short in TCCU communication circuit.
2. Check HECU (VDC) or their signal.
3. Repair or replace as necessary and go to VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR procedure.
