Signal Circuit Inspection

Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF"
Install Scantool and monitor the "MASS AIR FLOW (V)" parameter on the Scantool data list.
Specification: Approx. 0.1V
Is "MASS AIR FLOW (V)" within specification?
YES
- Go to TERMINAL AND CONNECTOR INSPECTION
NO
- Possibility of wiring harness or component malfunction
  - Below 0.1V: Check for open or short to ground in signal circuit
  - Above 5V: Check for short to battery in signal circuit
- Repair as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
- If OK, go to TERMINAL AND CONNECTOR INSPECTION
