Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS)

On Accent and Elantra, the VSS (located within the speedometer assembly) uses a reed switch to sense speedometer gear revolutions. On Sonata and Tiburon, the VSS (located on the transaxle) converts speedometer gear revolution (vehicle speed) into pulse signals which are sent to the ECM.
