Circuit/System Verification

  1. Ignition ON, compare the scan tool Air Pressure Sensor pressure parameter to the BARO reading. The readings should be within 3 kPa (0.5 psi).
  2. Command the Secondary Air Pump Relay ON and OFF with a scan tool. You should hear an audible click as the relay is commanded ON and OFF.
  3. Command the Air Solenoid ON and OFF with a scan tool. Listen or feel for Air Solenoid operation. The Air Solenoid should respond to the scan tool commands. Repeat as necessary in order to verify Air Solenoid operation.
    • If the Air Solenoid does not respond to the scan tool commands, refer to DTC P2440 .
  4. Ignition ON, command the Air Pump Relay ON and OFF with a scan tool. The Air Pump should respond to the scan tool commands.
  5. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC to verify the DTC does not reset. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
