Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2011 GMC Yukon XL, 2011 GMC Yukon, 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2011 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2011 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION:

Do not insert any tools into the throttle body bore in order to avoid damage to the throttle valve plate.

CAUTION:

Use care when handling the coolant sensor. Damage to the coolant sensor will affect the operation of the fuel control system.

  1. If installing the old sensor, coat the threads with sealant GM P/N 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480) or equivalent.
  2. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  3. Install the ECT sensor and tighten to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

  5. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (2) to the ECT sensor.
  6. Refill the cooling. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill) .
