Fuel Pressure Relieving: Procedure
WARNING:

NOTE:
- Refer to the Fuel and Emissions Systems Service Precautions before disconnecting the fuel line.
- Before disconnecting fuel lines or hoses, relieve pressure from the system by disabling the fuel pump and disconnecting the fuel line/quick connect fitting in the engine compartment.
- Fuel Fill Cap - Remove
1. Remove the fuel fill cap to relieve the pressure in the fuel tank. - Fuel Pump - Stop (with HDS)
1. Connect the HDS to the DLC 2. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, but do not turn to the READY TO DRIVE mode.
3. Select the PGM-FI System with the HDS.
4. From the Function Test Menu of the HDS, select FUEL PUMP OFF.
, and start the engine, then let it idle until it stalls.
NOTE:- Do not press the accelerator pedal before the engine stops.
- A Pending or Confirmed DTC may be set during this procedure. Check for DTCs, and clear them as needed.
6. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- Fuel Pump - Stop (without HDS)
1. Remove PGM-FI main relay 2 .
2. Enter the maintenance mode , and start the engine, then let it idle until it stalls.NOTE: If any DTCs are stored, clear and ignore them.
3. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 12 Volt Battery Terminal - Disconnect
