DTC C0039-38: Right-Rear Magnetic Encoder Malfunction (Pulse Missing)

• 12 volt battery voltage above 8.5 V

Operating Condition:

• 1.

  Start the engine.

• 2.

  Test-drive the vehicle at 19 mph (30 km/h) or more for more than 30 seconds.

• 1 drive cycle
• ABS indicator on
• VSA indicator on
• Brake system indicator on (If multiple wheel failures are detected)

• Stop ABS function
• Stop VSA function
• Stop EBD function (If multiple wheel failures are detected)
• Stop TCS function
• Stop engine drag torque control function
• Stop hill start assist function
• Stop brake assist function
• Stop trailer stability assist control function
• Stop agile handling assist control function
• Stop CMBS function
• Stop ACC function

• Debris on the right-rear hub bearing unit (magnetic encoder) surface
• Right-rear hub bearing unit (magnetic encoder) failure
• VSA modulator-control unit program not the latest
• VSA modulator-control unit internal failure
