Sliding Door Front Latch Replacement

NOTE:
Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Remove the latch remote control assembly and the latch remote control assembly cover (see SLIDING DOOR LATCH REMOTE CONTROL ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT ).
- Disconnect the outer handle cable (see step 2 ).
- Release the hooks (A), then remove the pinch sensor cover (B).
- Disconnect the pinch sensor connector (A), and detach the harness clips (B).
- Detach the cable clip (C), and remove the cable grommet (D), then remove the outer handle cable (E).
- Remove the front latch (A) through the hole in the door.
- Remove the screws.
- Disconnect the front latch cable (B).
- Release the hooks (A), then remove the latch protector (B).
- Remove the foam seal (A).
- Do the sliding door cable adjustment on the front latch cable (see FRONT LATCH CABLE ).
- Install the front latch in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened replace them with new ones.
- Take care not to bend any of the cables.
- Make sure the connector is plugged in properly, and the cable is routed properly and connected securely.
- Make sure the door locks and opens properly.
- Push the clips and hooks into place securely.
