Component Tests

ATF Temperature Sensor Replacement

1. Raise the vehicle on a lift, or apply the parking brake, block the rear wheels, and raise the front of the vehicle. Make sure it is securely supported.
2. Remove the splash shield.
3. Drain the automatic transmission fluid (ATF).
4. Disconnect the ATF temperature sensor connector (A), then remove the connector from the connector bracket (B).





5. Remove the harness clamp (C) from its bracket (D).
6. Remove the ATF temperature sensor, and replace the sensor.
7. Install a new O-ring (E) on a new ATF temperature sensor (F) and apply clean ATF to the O-ring.
8. Install the ATF temperature sensor connector to the connector bracket, then connect the connector securely.
9. Install the harness clamp on its bracket.
10. Refill the transmission with ATF.
11. Install the splash shield.
