Fuel Tank Replacement
- Remove the fuel tank unit (see FUEL TANK UNIT REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ), then drain the fuel tank (see FUEL TANK DRAINING ).
- Raise the vehicle on a lift.
- Remove the EVAP canister (see EVAP CANISTER REPLACEMENT ).
- Remove the cover (A) and the fuel tank guard (B).
- 4WD model: Remove the propeller shaft (see PROPELLER SHAFT RUNOUT ).
- Remove the exhaust pipe (see EXHAUST PIPE AND MUFFLER REPLACEMENT ).
- Disconnect the hoses (C). Slide back the clamps, then twist the hoses as you pull to avoid damaging them.
- Place a jack or other support under the tank (D).
- Remove the strap bolts and the straps (E).
- Remove the fuel tank.
- Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
