Cruise Control Will Not Set

  1. Check for faulty cruise control unit, faulty main switch, faulty SET/RESUME switch, faulty brakelight switch, faulty clutch switch (M/T) or shift lever position switch (A/T).
  2. Check for faulty ground connection G201 (located in right front corner of engine compartment), ground connection G301 (located in left front corner of engine compartment) or ground connection G401 (located behind left kick panel).
  3. Check for open in one or more of the following wires:
    • Blue/Red wire between horn switch and SET/RESUME switch.
    • Light Green/Red wire between SET/RESUME switch, cable reel and cruise control unit.
    • Black/Yellow wire between underdash fuse No. 24 (15-amp) and main switch. Wire also splices to cruise control unit.
    • Light Green wire between main switch, brakelight switch and cruise control unit.
    • Gray wire between brakelight switch and cruise control unit.
    • Yellow/Blue or Yellow/White wire between VSS and cruise control unit.
    • Brown wire between actuator and cruise control unit.
    • Brown/Black wire between actuator and cruise control unit.
    • Brown/White wire between actuator and cruise control unit.
    • Pink wire between clutch switch (M/T) or shift lever position switch (A/T) and cruise control unit.
