July 1: So it begins. Don't worry, this is not in the correct legal jurisdiction!

BRAKELIGHT Switch

  1. Disconnect electrical connector from brakelight switch, located near brake pedal. Note brakelight switch terminal identification. See Fig 1.
  2. Using ohmmeter, check for continuity between terminals "A" and "D" with brake pedal released. Replace brakelight switch if continuity does not exist.
  3. Using ohmmeter, check continuity between terminals "B" and "C" with brake pedal depressed. Continuity should exist.
  4. If continuity does not exist, ensure brake pedal is properly adjusted so brakelight switch can obtain proper travel for switch operation. If proper brakelight switch travel exists, replace brakelight switch.
