Cold (Fast) Idle Rpm

  1. Start engine and allow to reach normal operating temperature. Stop engine and connect a tachometer. Disconnect and plug inside vacuum hose to fast idle unloader. Open and close throttle fully while holding the choke valve closed to position fast idle cam.
  2. Start engine and check idle. On Accord and Prelude models, fast idle should be 2000-3000 RPM. On Civic models, fast idle should be 3000 RPM. Turn fast idle adjusting screw to set fast idle. See  Figure .
