DTC 17 - Abs Enable Relay Coil Circuit Shorted To Ground: Notes

Ignition voltage is supplied through terminal No. 2 of the ABS enable relay. The EBCM engages pull-in coil of relay by completing the ground circuit at terminal D6 of the EBCM. This energizes relay windings, closing the internal contacts which supplies power to the motors and solenoids.
DTC 17 can set before the EBCM commands the ABS enable relay on.
NOTE:
Test numbers refer to test numbers on diagnostic chart.
- Indicates EBCM is capable of controlling the ABS enable relay as commanded.
- Checks to ensure ABS enable relay or control circuit 9X01 is not shorted to ground.
- Checks for short to ground in control circuit 9X01 or faulty ABS enable relay.
- Checks if EBCM is internally shorted to ground.
