Leak Testing

Following overhaul of the compressor, conduct this leak test to make sure that unit reassembly was sound.

1. Disconnect lines from service valve fittings on compressor.

Important
^ Cap refrigerant line fittings to keep dirt and moisture out of the system.

2. Connect a manifold gage to compressor service valve.
3. Charge compressor with refrigerant until the pressure is 296 kPa (43 psi).
4. Check component for leaks using a gas leak detector.
5. If leakage is found, repair or replace compressor.
