Signal Circuit Inspection

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2017 Genesis G80. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. IG key "ON", Engine "ON".
  2. Set the shift lever in "D" range, move vehicle slowly to recognize the obstacles.
  3. Perform "Oscilloscope" procedure in the "Diagnosis" with GDS.
  4. Measure the signal waveform between "LIN LINE" terminal of "FRONT PARKING ASSIST SENSOR LH" harness connector and chassis ground.

  5. Does the measured signal waveform follow the reference data?

    YES

    • Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in "FRONT PARKING ASSIST SENSOR LH"'s connector.
    • Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.
    • Repair or replace as necessary, go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

    NO

    • If the voltage of measured signal waveform is the battery voltage level (about 12V),

→ Check LIN line short to battery.

→ Check LIN line open/poor connection.

    • If the voltage of measured signal waveform is the ground voltage level (about 0V), check LIN line short to ground.
    • If the signal waveform is abnormal, check for foreign substance around sensor, trapped sensor rubber.
