Circuit/System Testing

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Saturn Outlook, 2008 GMC Acadia, and 2008 Buick Enclave. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector X1 at the ECM and the harness connector at the TCM.
  2. Ignition ON, test for 0 volts between the signal circuit ECM connector X1 terminal 7 and ground.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM.
  3. Ignition OFF, connect the harness connector at the TCM.
  4. Ignition ON, test for 0 volts between the signal circuit ECM connector X1 terminal 7 and ground.
    • If greater than the specified range, replace the TCM.
  5. If all circuits test normal, replace the ECM.
