July 1: So it begins. Don't worry, this is not in the correct legal jurisdiction!

Test B: Scan Tool Inoperative

  1. Check for battery voltage at DLC terminal No. 16 (Orange wire). If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open, blown fuse or short to ground as necessary. After repair, go to appropriate diagnostic system check. See DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  table under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  2. Check for open circuit between DLC terminal No. 4 (Black/White wire) and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If no problem is found, go to next step. If problem is found, repair open or high resistance between DLC and ground. After repair, go to appropriate diagnostic system check. See DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  table under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  3. Check for damage and poor connections on DLC terminals No. 4 and No. 16. If no problem is found, go to next step. If problem is found, repair as necessary. After repair, go to appropriate diagnostic system check. See DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  table under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  4. Check scan tool. Follow scan tool manufacturer's instructions. After repair, go to appropriate diagnostic system check. See DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  table under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
