Seat Occupant Sensor: Removal
WARNING:
The following procedure prescribes critical repair steps required for correct restraint system operation during a crash. Follow all notes and steps carefully. Failure to follow step instructions may result in incorrect operation of the restraint system and increases the risk of serious personal injury or death in a crash.
Bench seat
- Remove the front bench seat cushion. Refer to: Front Bench Seat Cushion .

NOTE: Follow the unique instructions or graphics for this step in the installation.
- Invert the front bench seat cushion cover.
- Remove and discard the hog rings.

NOTE: Use care when separating the front bench seat cushion trim cover from the hook-and-loop strips or the hook-and-loop strips may be torn from the front bench seat cushion foam.
Release the hook-and-loop strips.

NOTE: The front bench seat cushion cover is shown removed for clarity.
Route the wiring harness through the front bench seat cushion foam and remove the seat occupant sensor.
Base seat
- Remove the front passenger seat cushion cover. Refer to: Front Seat Cushion Cover .
- Remove the seat occupant sensor.
