Selector Lever Cable Adjustment

All vehicles 

1. 1.
   
   Apply the parking brake.

   Position the selector lever in D.

   Remove the air cleaner. REFER to: Air Cleaner - 1.5L EcoBoost (118kW/160PS) - I4.

All vehicles 

1. 4.
   
   Disconnect the selector lever cable from the manual lever.

   1. 1.
      
      Rotate the manual control lever clockwise until it stops.

   1. 2.
      
      Rotate the manual control lever counterclockwise 1 detent.

   Unlock the adjuster.

   1. 1.
      
      Move the slide to the left.

   1. 2.
      
      While holding the slide, position the adjuster lock upward.

   Connect the selector lever cable to the manual lever.

   Push the adjuster lock into place.

   • Set the ignition switch to the II position (Ignition ON).
   • Apply the brake.
   • Release the parking brake.

   Verify that the vehicle starts only in P and N and the reverse lamps illuminate in R.
