Multi-Contour Seat Module (SCMG/SCMH): Removal

Driver seat shown, passenger seat similar.
- 1.NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component.NOTE: The PMI (programmable module installation) process must begin with the current driver seat module [SCMG] or passenger seat module [SCMH] installed. If the current SCMG or SCMH does respond to the diagnostic scan tool, the tool may prompt for As-Built Data as part of the repair not
Using a diagnostic scan tool, begin the PMI process for the SCMG or SCMH following the on-screen instructions.

Remove the front seat. Refer to Seat - Front .

Remove the cushion side shield from the seat cushion.- 1.
Remove the fasteners.
- 2.
Disconnect the memory set switch electrical connector.
- 3.
Lift and slide forward to remove the cushion side shield.

Remove the inboard side shield from the cushion.- 1.
Remove the screw.
- 2.
Remove the scrivet.
- 3.
Lift and slide the side shield forward to release.

On both sides, release the hook-and-loop strips and clips. Detach the seat backrest cover lower J-clip.
- 8.NOTE: Use care when separating the backrest cover from the hook-and-loop strip, or the hook-and-loop strip can be torn from the backrest foam pad.
Invert the backrest cover. Separate the backrest cover from the hook-and-loop strips. Using side cutters, remove the first row of hog rings.

Disconnect the multi-contour seat module.- 1.
Disconnect the electrical connector
- 2.
Disconnect the hoses from the Multi-Contour Seat Module.

Remove the multi-contour seat module.- 1.
Release the module from the retaining fastener.
- 2.
Lift the module and release the hooks attaching it to the lumbar assembly.
