Engine - Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch: Service and Repair

Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor - 2.0L GDI

Removal

1. Drain the cooling system. REFER to Cooling System Draining .

2. Remove the ECT (Engine Coolant Temperature) retaining clip.

3. Disconnect the ECT (Engine Coolant Temperature) sensor electrical connector.

4. Remove the ECT (Engine Coolant Temperature) sensor.

Installation

1. Install the ECT (Engine Coolant Temperature) sensor.

2. Install the ECT (Engine Coolant Temperature) sensor clip.

3. Connect the ECT (Engine Coolant Temperature) sensor electrical connector.

4. Fill the cooling system. REFER to Cooling System Filling And Bleeding - With A Vacuum Cooling System Filler or REFER to Cooling System Filling And Bleeding - Without A Vacuum Cooling System Filler .
