AUTOMATIC LIFTGATE BOUNCE BACK WHEN
CLOSING - BUILT ON OR BEFORE 11/28/2011

ISSUE
Some 2012 Edge and MKX vehicles equipped with an automatic liftgate and built on or before 11/28/2011 may exhibit the liftgate not latching and bouncing back open when automatic closing is selected.
ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
Reprogram the liftgate module to the latest calibration using IDS release 77A.05 or higher. This new calibration is not included in the VCM 2012.1A DVD. Calibration files may also be obtained at the website.
WARRANTY STATUS: Eligible Under Provisions Of New Vehicle Limited Warranty Coverage Warranty/ESP coverage limits/policies/prior approvals are not altered by a TSB. Warranty/ESP coverage limits are determined by the identified causal part and verified using the OASIS part coverage tool.
