Removal and Installation

NOTE: 4.0L shown, 4.6L and 5.4L similar.

4.0L or 5.4L vehicles

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Vehicle Jacking and Lifting.

2. Remove the lower radiator splash shield.

All vehicles

3. NOTE: For 4.6L vehicles, the ambient temperature sensor can be accessed through the airflow opening in the front bumper cover.

Detach the ambient temperature sensor electrical connector pin-type retainer.

4. Disconnect the ambient temperature sensor electrical connector and remove the ambient temperature sensor.

5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
