Crankshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair

CRANKSHAFT POSITION (CKP) SENSOR







Removal and Installation
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
2. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
3. Disconnect the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor electrical connector.
4. Remove the 2 bolts and the CKP sensor.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).

5. NOTE: The new CKP sensor must be touching the damper. The new sensor has wear tabs that will wear off after several engine revolutions.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
